Dyed Big Leaf Maple Bowl

We came across a Big Leaf Maple log that had been down a long time.  It had some spalting, and some cracking had set in as it slowly dried out...but the wood was handsome, it had character, and it wanted to become a bowl.  So...we filled the cracks and bridged them with splines of Birch, applied a coat of medium Walnut stain, and then applied 4 coats of Behlin Blood Red stain.  Five coats of Walnut oil and then burnished: and you have a very attractive and unusual bowl that will never be duplicated.  Want to make it yours?
