Madrone Bowl with Character and Attitude

Madrone is too beautiful to consign to firewood when flawed...so we take extra steps to save it.  Often when it transits through the drying process Madrone will develop stress cracks, as did this beauty. One way to save it is to apply "stitches" across the cracks, secured with glue and to also fill the cracks with glue and finely ground coffee (we use Mexican Espresso!). This sweetie has that treatment and also proudly sports a bit of natural edge and a spot of ground Turquoise. Sanded and then polished both inside and out to a silky smooth finish, it is ready to grace any table and to be a focus of attention.
