It is such a treat to have the opportunity to work with unusual woods!! This beauty is from a Rhododendron bush/tree that was over 100 years old. The wood is  a delightful creamy color, with light brown grain lines, finished to a satin touch.  The wood is quite dense so the weight is pleasantly surprising. You can feel just a bit of bark on the rim... a bit of tactile surprise.
